Art on the Aspen Tree ( Arborglyphs )

Anthropologists indicate that Aspen tree carvings, or Arborglyphs, were started by Basque sheepherders during the California Gold Rush.  They have become a common sight anywhere that Aspen trees grow.  The pictures on these pages were taken mainly in the Medicine Bow National Forest of southern Wyoming and the Routt National Forest of northwestern Colorado.
